A Waukon man is in jail, after he sent a picture of a firearm with a threatening message, to a woman he was ordered to have no contact.


On Tuesday (Oct. 6), the Waukon Police Department received a report that 24 year old Anthony Williams had sent the picture of a gun, as well as a threat to an unidentified woman. Williams was previously ordered to have no contact with the woman due to a prior Domestic Assault.

Investigating officers discovered Williams inside a home at 802 1st Avenue NW in Waukon.

When police attempted to make contact with Williams, he barricaded himself inside the home. After several hours of attempted negotiations, officers were able to get inside the house at about 3am today.

Williams was taken into custody, charged with Violating a No-Contact Order, and Stalking. There was also a warrant for a Violation of a no-contact order.

Waukon Police were assisted at the scene by the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office and K-9, the Lansing Police Department, the Postville Police Department and K-9, and the Iowa State Patrol and negotiator.
