Man Jailed for Seriously Injuring Woman

An Epworth man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman, causing some serious facial injuries.

The incident happened at about 3am on January 10th, at a residence in the 100 block of West 2nd Street and Main Street in Dubuque.

32 year old Kevin McGovern is accused of violently assaulting Aleca Lombardi; she was treated for 5 nose fractures and several skull fractures.

McGovern was arrested Monday (Jan. 18) at about 11pm at a residence on 1st Street NE in Epworth. He is being charged with Willful Injury-Bodily Injury.

Since Aleca Lombardi will be off work to recover from needed reconstructive surgery, a "GoFundMe" account has been set up, with the funds to assist Lombardi with financial help that she will need for herself, and for her children.
