
Man Facing Charges In Weekend Waterloo Shooting
A Waterloo man has been arrested on charges connected to a weekend shooting that injured a man in the city.
According to a Waterloo police press release, Larry Phillips, 24, was taken into custody on Tuesday (May 30, 2017). He charged with willful serious injury, carrying weapons, possession of weapons by a felon and going armed with intent. Phillips was booked into the Black Hawk County jail. His bond was at $150,000.
Phillips is accused of shooting a man in the 500 block of Sumner Street on Saturday. Officers were dispatched to the scene and found Brylon Watson, 26, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Watson was transported to a local hospital to be treated. Police said the wounds were not life-threatening.
