Man Dies in Farm-related Accident in Johnson County

An Eastern Iowa man has died in a farm-related accident in rural Johnson County.

Emergency personnel were summoned at about 1:15pm Monday afternoon (May 7) to the accident scene, near the town of Parnell in rural Johnson County.

The victim of the accident was identified as 65 year old Merlyn Yoder of Wellman. Yoder was struck and run over by a chemical sprayer; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Johnson County Sheriff is investigating; they were assisted by the Washington County Sheriff, Iowa State Patrol, Wellman Fire Department, Johnson county Ambulance, and Johnson County Medical Examiner.
