A former Waverly man has been arrested for allegedly having sexual contact with a child.

Waverly police took 38-year-old Ryan Tradel of Traer into custody on Wednesday (April 8).

Tradel is accused of performing a sex act on a victim who was younger than 12, and also forcing the victim to perform a sex act on him. According to the authorities, the incidents occurred on or about April 3.

Tradel is charged with two counts of second-degree sex abuse. He was being held in the Bremer County Jail on $100,000 bond.

If convicted, Tradel could be sentenced to 25 years in prison on each charge.
