Man Arrested for Running a Meth Lab in His Home
A Northeast Iowa man has been arrested for allegedly running a meth lab out of his home.
On Thursday (June 1), the Fayette County Sheriff executed a search warrant at 110 West Burger Street in Hawkeye, after a two week investigation.
The Fayette County Sheriff and Oelwein Police Clandestine Lab team processed the scene, seizing several containers of evidence used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
The resident of the home, 34 year old Brian Sunnes of Hawkeye, was taken into custody on charges of Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A conviction could put Sunnes in prison for up to 25 years. The investigation continues, and more arrests could be made.
The Hawkeye Fire Department and Tri State Ambulance assisted in the decontamination of the suspect and the officers.
