Man Arrested After Walking Away from Van Rollover

A local man faces several charges after leaving the scene of a rollover accident in rural Fayette County.

At about 6pm Wednesday (June 21), the Fayette County Sheriff got a report of a single vehicle, rollover accident near the intersection of 110th Street and "R" Avenue, west of Maynard.

Deputies arrived on the scene discovered the driver had fled on foot. 23 year old Jacob Snay of Oelwein was found after a search of the area, hiding in a row of trees.

Snay was apparently not injured; he was determined to be the driver of the crashed 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan, owned by Mykala Mieke.

Snay was arrested on charges of Driving While his License is Suspended, Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol-1st Offense, and Failure to Maintain Control.
