Man Arrested After Officer Finds Abandoned Motorcycle in Maynard
A Strawberry Point man faces several charges for allegedly stealing two motorcycles, leaving one of them in the middle of a road in Maynard.
At about 2am Friday (July 2nd), a Fayette County deputy noticed suspicious activity in Maynard, and during his investigation, found an abandoned motorcycle, left sideways on 4th Street South.
The officer followed footprints from the motorcycle, into nearby shrubs and trees, where he found the suspect, 23 year old Dakota Fratzke. He was initially charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia-2 Counts, and Interference with Official Acts.
The investigation also determined Fratzke was in possession of a stolen motorcycle which he left in the street, along with another motorcycle he took from a local residence, earlier in the evening.
Fratzke was then charged with 2 Counts of Theft in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Trespass, and some traffic violations.
He was taken to the Fayette County jail and held until his initial court appearance.
