In the wake of inflation and Americans being squeezed for every penny, Hobby Lobby is stepping up and making a change to their minimum wage.

Hobby Lobby has increased their minimum wage to $19.25 an hour, and that took effect on Oct. 1. This isn't the first time that Hobby Lobby has stepped up and done all that they can to make their employees lives a little more comfortable.

Back in 2009, the major retail chain was one of the first major retail outlets, with over 1,000 locations, to raise their in-house minimum wage to above the nationwide minimum wage dollar amount.

They then raised it again in 2017 to $17 an hour.

Hobby Lobby operates kind of like Chick-Fil-A does. They are closed every Sunday and their stores close a little earlier than most during the week.

“For decades, we have closed our stores on Sundays, and at 8 p.m. the rest of the week, to help employees balance their work and personal lives, and have time for rest, family and worship," said Hobby Lobby CEO David Green.

Green continued, highlighting the benefits offered to Hobby Lobby employees.

"We work hard to provide some of the best wages and benefits in retail, which allows us to attract and retain a great team of associates to serve our loyal customers," he said. "We have worked hard to hold our prices down, and are thankful for our continued success as a company."

One thing is for certain, Hobby Lobby not only cares about their bottom line, as any business should, but they try to take care of their employees.
