Luke Bryan’s First Christian Song Details His Family’s Relationship With Jesus [Listen]
Luke Bryan's new Mind of a Country Boy album features a first for him: A Christian country song called "Jesus 'Bout My Kids."
Bryan didn't write it — Tucker Beathard, Jeff Hyde, Brad Rempel and Ben Stennis did — but he appreciates the message. The song resonated with him and captures the essence of his family's relationship with God.
During a recent chat with Taste of Country Nights, the superstar opened up about is family's core values and relating to the song.
He says this is the "first time I've really ever certainly stated Jesus in there," speaking of releasing a song that so clearly details his Christian faith.
"I'm proud of this song," Bryan notes. "This is a song that I could go to any church of this world of ours, any Christian church, and really sing this song and it can be interpreted very Christian-like."
"I think it's a beautifully written song that every parent can really relate to," he continues. "Especially raising your kids in a Christian household, which is what my wife and I strive to do."
"Our boys, we're really proud of their relationship with Jesus," Bryan says.
He and wife Caroline have two teenage sons, Bo and Tate, and raised their nephew, Til, who is now in college. "We've worked together to really make that a thing in our home. Certainly when we're sitting down at dinner and saying our prayers."
Bryan is confident "Jesus 'Bout My Kids" will resonate with his fanbase, especially those of faith.
"This song is totally real to our family environment and I'm sure a lot of other people out there," he says.
Mind of a Country Boy was released in full on Sept. 27.
