Local Man Busted on Warrant for Drugs

Oelwein Police have arrested a local man on an outstanding warrant, involving illegal drugs.

Just before 5:30pm Thursday (July 18), 26 year old William Newton of Oelwein was taken into custody on a Buchanan County Sheriff's warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Warren was arrested in the 100 block of 13th Avenue NE.

Oelwein Police have arrested a local woman this morning (Friday, July 19) on the northwest side of town.
Shortly after 7am, 50 year old Kimberly Schoultz of Oelwein was taken into custody for Disorderly Conduct-Simple.
She was arrested in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue NW.

And early this (Friday) morning, just one minute after midnight, Oelwein Police officers were called out to investigate a theft. The incident was located in the 800 block of 2nd Avenue NE in Oelwein; it remains under investigation.
