Local Man Arrested After Police Look Into a Disturbance

An Oelwein man has been charged with a violation involving alcohol.

Oelwein Police were called to a disturbance in the 100 block of 8th avenue NW, shortly after 8pm Wednesday (Aug. 28).  Officers arrested 49 year old Jimmy Campbell on a charge of Public Intoxication.

On Monday, Oelwein Police pulled over a car at the intersection of the 800 block of 2nd Avenue SE. The driver, 48 year old Andrew Thomas of Hazleton, was cited for Driving While his License is Suspended.

And officers were called to a burglary shortly after 4pm Thursday. The incident was reported shortly after 4pm Thursday, in the 500 block of 1st Avenue NE. It remains under investigation.
