Two Northeast Iowa motorists are being charged, after putting their vehicles in ditches in separate Monday morning accidents.

At about 5:30am, the Fayette County Sheriff was alerted by 911 call, of a vehicle in the ditch on Harding Road, 3 miles east of West Union. 30 year old Floriberta Morales of West Union was headed west in her SUV, when it entered the ditch and rolled several times. No one was injured. Her 2010 Chevrolet Suburban was totaled. Morales was charged with Failure to Maintain Control.

And shortly after 5am Monday, the sheriff got a 911 call, reporting a vehicle in the ditch on Kornhill Road, 2 miles west of Wadena. 60 year old Elizabeth Wedo of Elgin was driving her car westbound, when the vehicle entered a ditch. No one was injured, but her 2019 Chevrolet Impala sustained $5,000 in damage. Wedo was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
