The Fayette County Sheriff's Office recently conducted a very positive tobacco compliance check of area businesses.

The operation was done last Friday (Feb. 1).

Retail establishments throughout Fayette County were checked, to see if they would sell tobacco to a minor. The sheriff sent a minor into each store, under direct supervision of a deputy, to try to buy any tobacco products.

All of the retail establishments that were checked, were compliant, by not selling the minor any tobacco products.
