The trial for a Cresco man, charged with killing his wife in their mobile home over a year ago, will begin this week.

35 year old Brian Fullhart is charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Zoanne Fullhart in Cresco, on February 28th of 2018.
He also held police at bay in an armed standoff after the shooting, and fired an arrow from a compound bow at law enforcement. He also threatened to shoot the officers with his gun.

Fullhart surrendered after a 3 hour standoff, when police fired a tear gas canister into the mobile home.

In addition to the murder charge, Fullhart was charged with Going Armed With Intent, however that count may be dropped due to a lack of evidence.
Fullhart's attorney noted that they will be using a defense of diminished responsibility or intoxication.

Jury selection began Wednesday; his trial will commence today (Thursday, July 18) at the Howard County Courthouse in Cresco.
