Northeast Iowa is full of honest, hard working farmers. Many have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Other in Eastern Iowa are still dealing with the fallout of the derecho from August as they attempt to salvage a harvest. Now, one the of regions largest employers, and makers of farm equipment, is helping out.

John Deere is holding a virtual country music benefit, The Farm Must Go On by John Deere, to aid struggling American farmers. According to a report from KWQC in Dubuque, country stars Dustin Lynch, Maddie & Tae, Mickey Guyton, Travis Denning, Tyler Farr and others will be performing on Wednesday, December 9 from thee Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville. The concert will be streaming live on YouTube beginning at 7pm. John Deere is partnering with Farm Rescue, which is a non-profit group that helps farmers in several states including Iowa.

All proceeds earned from the virtual concert will go directly to Farm Rescue. In turn, they will use the funds to provide its volunteer workforce with meals and lodging, and all fuel costs for their vehicles and other machinery.

The concert will be free, but donation are encouraged. You can receive more info here. On the official page for the event, both COVID-19 and the dercho were listed as key hardships for farmers in 2020.
