Which Waterloo Hy-Vee Location Is Closing?

According to reports, the Hy-Vee on Logan Avenue in Waterloo will be no more by the end of this summer. This Hy-Vee location also contained a bank and a pharmacy.

The Mayor of Waterloo Quentin Hart was shocked and "disappointed" when he found out about this closure.

"I grew up with this Hy-Vee; the original store was built in 1969, so there is a tremendous amount of history involved."

In his statement he claimed that he had gone to upper-level management at Hy-Vee to see if anything could be done about the closing.

Hart says that he and city officials will continue to reach out the company's office to "address the closing, while making sure we look for new opportunities.”

Why Is It Closing?

In a recent report, the Senior Vice President of Communications, Tina Potthoff said that these closures were due to the stores not meeting "financial expectations."
