Major Social Media Stars Spotted All Across Cedar Rapids

If you were walking around downtown Cedar Rapids on Thursday night (April 24th) you might have noticed a long line of young people in their late teens or early twenties lining up outside the Paramount Theater.

While it's not unusual to see people gathered around the area, they were all crowding for a reason.

All of them were trying to get a glimpse of the major social media stars Tana Mongeau and Brooke Schofield.

Who Exactly is Tana Mongeau?

Over the last few years, Tana Mongeau has become one of the most well-known YouTubers on the platform. She has 5.39 million subscribers on the channel and blew up due to her "story time" videos.

Five years ago, her career took a turn after she failed to launch an online creator convention to rival VidCon called Tanacon. Some critics likened it to the disastrous Fyre Festival.

Now, several years after that, Mongeau is trying to clean up her act. She started a podcast with fellow social media star Brooke Schofield called 'CANCELLED with Tana Mongeau.'

Now, the duo is setting out on a cross-country tour for their podcast.

They made a stop in Cedar Rapids on Thursday, April 24th at the Paramount Theater. While they were in the area, they made a few stops across the city.

Where Did They Go?

While there is not much that we could figure out about what Tana was up to during her day in Eastern Iowa, Brooke did document a whole lot of her time in Cedar Rapids on Tik Tok.

She started off her day with a visit to Dash Coffee Roasters which is on 3rd Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids. On every single stop on the tour, Brooke has been checking out the local coffee shops in the area.

She ended up ordering a dirty chai and the southwest bowl. The young social media star gave her entire experience at the local coffee spot an eight out of ten.

Next up was a quick trip to the spot where they would be putting on their live podcast, the Paramount Theater.

This time, she used the backdrop of the historic theater for her recreation of the iconic Nicole Kidman AMC theater preview.

Schofield also took a walk along the Cedar River downtown and tried to recreate the now infamous "Just Chillin' In Cedar Rapids' video that Secretary Hillary Clinton made a few years back.

Of course, Tana had to use the hilarious viral sound too during the live podcast that Thursday evening!

This Cedar Rapids appearance is the second show on the new leg of their podcast tour. They will be continuing their Midwestern portion of this tour with stops in Kansas City; Nebraska; and Saint Paul, Minnesota.
