Ever since moving to the Cedar Valley in 2018, I've been obsessed with the local craft beer scene!
SingleSpeed in Waterloo (they also have a Cedar Falls and Des Moines location), has been my go-to for great beer and food.
Waterloo is set to become a central hub for Iowa craft beer.

The move aims to unite three of Iowa’s best-loved craft breweries under one roof, allowing for shared production, collaboration, and expanded taproom offerings.
Founder of SingleSpeed, Dave Morgan, said the consolidation is a win for Waterloo, Iowa, craft beer lovers and every fan who has supported the breweries so far.
He noted that the venue will showcase the best of Iowa beer and set the stage for future innovation.
What Will Happen to the Other Breweries' Branding
As part of the agreement, SingleSpeed will acquire Backpocket’s intellectual property. Peace Tree’s brand will also be included in the transition, continuing its legacy in Iowa’s beer scene.
The facility, at 325 Commercial Street, is housed in the historic WonderBread building. Before production can begin, SingleSpeed must secure city approval for expanding operations.
More Options for Thirsty Customers
Combined output of the three breweries puts them in a powerful position in Iowa’s craft beer rankings.

For Waterloo, this could boost local tourism and help solidify its reputation among Iowa cities known for craft beer culture.
Cheers!
