Cedar Falls’ Hearst Center Hosts Free Afternoon of Family Fun
As fall hits NE Iowa, there's no shortage of fun family events you can take advantage of and enjoy, at little to no cost.
Another of those events is coming up later this month!
Families will once again have a chance to celebrate art, music, and community at the Hearst Center for the Arts.
The Hearst Center for the Arts Presents Free Family Fun Day
The annual Free Family Fun Day returns Saturday, September 27, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Hearst Center, 304 W. Seerley Blvd. in Cedar Falls.
The afternoon event is open to the public and free of charge.

Organizers say the celebration is designed to bring people of all ages together through creativity and play.

Free Family Fun Day Highlights
Highlights include storytime with the Cedar Falls Public Library, balloon creations by Toby the Balloon Dude, and a musical “petting zoo” provided by West Music, where children can try out different instruments.
Families can also take part in Kindermusik mini-classes and join in hands-on projects led by the Hearst’s Education team, giving a preview of the art classes offered year-round for kids, teens, and adults.
“From budding artists to curious music-makers, there’s something for everyone to enjoy,” organizers said in announcing the event.
While at the event, visitors can also learn about becoming a Friend of the Hearst, a membership program that supports arts programming and provides perks like discounts on class registrations.
Free Family Fun Day Support
The Free Family Fun Day is supported in part by the Iowa Arts Council’s Cultural Leadership Partner program, a division of the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
