Popular Marion Diner and Coffee Shop Announces It Will Close

A popular Marion restaurant and coffee shop has announced it will close for good in early November. It's a sad 'end' for West End Diner.

West End Diner in Marion Announces It Will Close

Restaurant closings often take people by surprise, but when West End Diner announced that it will soon close their doors, I was floored. The unique diner and attached coffee shop opened in 2019 at 809 6th Ave in Marion. Jack and Annette Perry opened the restaurant because they wanted something new for residents in Marion. But in a Facebook post, they announced the business will soon close.

The post states that the last day for the West End Diner will be Sunday, November 8th. Even though the restaurant is closing, all other businesses in the West End will remain open.

West End wasn't just a diner. It has become its own little community of shops for merchants in Marion. It is a place where farmers' markets are held in the covered pavilion. I can't tell you how many times my family has walked over from our home in Marion to enjoy some breakfast and a coffee.

While the diner is set to close, here is hoping the rest of Marion's West End continues to thrive.
