A Big New Parking Ramp Has Opened in Cedar Rapids’ Kingston Village
The next time you're headed to Big Grove Brewery, Pickle Palace, the McGrath Amphitheatre, or any other businesses in the Kingston Village area, you'll have a new parking option! The long-awaited new parking ramp at 1st and 1st West is now OPEN.
About the New Ramp
According to the Cedar Rapids city website, the Kingston Yard Parking Ramp officially opened to the public on February 6th, and it's pretty difficult to miss. The five-level facility features two HUGE signs bearing the words “Kingston Yard” and “Cedar Rapids,” which are clearly visible for anyone passing through the Downtown area on I-380.
The new parking ramp features 3 bays with a total of 450 parking spaces, including 10 spaces for electric cars. It also has bicycle parking, multiple elevators, and heated stairways. The city's website says that the "finishing touches" and landscaping will be completed this spring.
The entrance for the Kingston Yard Parking Ramp is located on 2nd Ave SW, with the exit leading out onto 3rd St SW. It costs 75-cents per hour, but there is also a monthly rate of $95, which you can get more information about HERE. All of the ramps in the Downtown Cedar Rapids area are enforced 24/7 and payment is due when you arrive. You can either use the Park CR app to pay for your parking, or you can use one of the pay stations on the 1st floor.
Other Kingston Village Projects
Although the parking ramp is now complete, there's still construction and road closures in the area due to other continuing projects. One of those projects is the neighboring hotel, AC by Marriott Cedar Rapids.
According to the Corridor Business Journal, the new hotel broke ground back in April of 2025. KGAN reports that it will feature 123 rooms, a 2,800-square-foot meeting space, a rooftop-style bar, and a fitness center. It's expected to open later this year.
