An Eastern Iowa steakhouse will soon be closing its doors for good as the husband and wife owners say they're ready to retire.

If you've ever spent time in the Quad Cities, specifically Davenport, then you've probably heard of Tappa's Steakhouse. After 41 years in business, the restaurant's owners, Cliff and Jan Tappa, say that they're ready to retire, according to KWQC. The couple announced on Tuesday that the restaurant would be closing for good in early February.

Tappa's website states that the restaurant began serving customers back in 1982. Tappa's stated that they served customers in Scott, Clinton, Muscatine, and Jackson counties, but their popularity expanded far beyond that. The steakhouse specialized in hand-cut premium Hereford steaks. Cuts included porterhouse, ribeye, New York strip, sirloin, and filet mignon. Who wouldn't want to dive into one of these beauties?

Tappa's Steakhouse is also apparently famous for its hashbrowns, dubbed 'the best in town.' So how much longer do you have to get to Tappa's and enjoy a great steak dinner? Their Facebook post says that the restaurant will close for good at 8 p.m. on February 7th. A message on the menu at Tappa's shows you just how much the past 41 years have meant.

For over four decades, Jan and Cliff Tappa, with a group of dedicated employees (Cid, Tim, Lorrie, and many others) have gone the extra mile to make each customer a member of the family. A meal at Tappa’s Steak House is amazing. Featuring Premium Hereford Beef which is hand cut when you order. Whether you are a regular to our little section of the dining world or if this is your first time with us, you are now and always will be a part of the family.

We're sad to see that family atmosphere come to an end. Get to Tappa's Steakhouse in the next couple of weeks and say goodbye with one heck of a meal!
