Clark’s Buzzer Beater Caps A Great Day For The Hawkeyes [WATCH]

It was a special day for the Iowa women's basketball program on Sunday. It was senior day at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, and the crowd said goodbye to seniors Monika Czinano and McKenna Warnock. ESPN's College Gameday was broadcasting live. And yes, 2nd ranked Indiana was in town. The Sunday sports spotlight was on Iowa City, and boy did it live up to the hype!

With Iowa trailing by two points with just seconds left in regulation, everyone in Iowa City knew who was going to get the last shot. Caitlin Clark. Coach Lisa Bluder drew up a play that got Clark just enough time to get off a last-second three-point shot. The rest is Iowa basektball history.

Clark would go on to say that she practiced plenty of those shots before, telling the Gazette "whether it was with my two brothers in the driveway, a lot by myself." As the sellout crowd at Carver went nuts, so did this basketball fan watching at home. A national TV audience just got to see the best player in women's college basketball. Many believe that Clark's heroics on a national stage sewed up her National Player of the Year.

But these Hawkeyes have bigger things in mind. The Gazette reports that the first up is the Women's Big Ten Tournament this weekend in Minneapolis. Iowa is the number two seed and will play either 7-seed Purdue or 10-seed Wisconsin on Friday evening. But after that is the Women's NCAA Tournament. The Hawkeyes want to do more than just make noise this year. They've proven they can beat the best of the best. Bluder's Bunch wants a Final Four. Momentum is on their side. How can it not be after a day like Sunday?
