11 Missouri Float Trips Everyone Should Experience at Least Once

If there is only one adventure you do in Missouri in your lifetime, make it this one. Very few states can offer the kind of scenic float trips that are possible in Missouri and there are 11 that stand above the rest.

As I've shared before, two of the highlights of my life were the float trips that my dad and I did together on the Eleven Point River in Missouri. The first was with my Boy Scout troop. The second was just him and me. Both were unforgettable. The Eleven Point isn't necessarily the best float trip you can make in Missouri, but it's in the top 3. Here's the complete list:

While float trips are one of the best adventures you can do in Missouri, it's one you need to be prepared for. Other than the obvious life preservers, you need to know where the rapids are in each river. As I remember it, there were two parts of our Eleven Point River float trip where there were serious rapids that needed to be navigated. On our first trip, we ended up getting dumped after hitting big boulders in the faster waters. Fun, but also somewhat dangerous if you're not prepared. All that being said, there's nothing I can recommend any more than floating one of these epic Missouri rivers and streams. Trust me. It will be an experience you'll never forget. I never have.
