It’s Time for the Annual Tornado Drill in Northeast Iowa
Many Northeast Iowans will hear tornado sirens in their community tomorrow (Wednesday, March 27).
As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, the Storm Prediction Center will issue a Test Tornado Watch, for all Iowa counties, starting at 10am and lasting until 11am.
At 10:15am, communities that take part in the exercise, will sound their Tornado Warning Sirens.
A Severe Weather statement will be issued at 10:35am, cancelling the Tornado Warning test.
The test tornado watch drill will end at 11am.
Each day this week, the National Weather Service has designated a severe weather phenomenon, such as lightning, hail, and flash flooding.
During the Test Tornado Warning Wednesday, residents are urged to think about their course of action, should a real threat develops.
