Good Grief.

For over 50 years, we've been able to turn on the TV at 7:00 on a chilly October night to watch the Halloween classic, "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." But not anymore.

The special debuted on CBS in 1966 and was watched by millions every year until 2001, when ABC took over the broadcast rights. Even then, ABC aired it -- usually twice -- every October through 2019. Last year's showing brought in over five million viewers.

This fall, the Peanuts Gang will find their home on Apple TV+. The partnership will not only stream the Halloween Special, but also "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving," "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and others.

The good news: you don't have to be a subscriber to watch the specials. They will stream for FREE to non-subscribers, but only on select dates:

"It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" will stream for FREE for three days, October 30th through November 1st.

"A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" will be begin streaming on November 18th, and will be free from November 25th to November 27th.

"A Charlie Brown Christmas" will arrive in early December and will be FREE to non-subscribers from December 11th to December 13th.

The tradition of watching this every fall dates back to when I was a child, and now -- as a parent -- watching Charlie Brown getting multiple rocks every Halloween -- still brings a smile to my face as I watch my kids giggle.
