Iowa’s Most Popular Baby Names In 2019

Each year the Unites States Social Security department puts out the list of the most popular baby names of the year. Well, just in time for the first week of 2020, we now know what the most popular names of 2019 were. They broke it down by girls and boys names.

GIRLS:

1. Emma
2. Olivia
3. Ava
4. Isabella
5. Sophia
6. Charlotte
7. Mia
8. Amelia
9. Harper
10. Evelyn

Of those ten names, only Harper is new to the list last year. It replaced the name Abigail, which fell out of the tenth spot.

BOYS:

1. Liam
2. Noah
3. William
4. James
5. Oliver
6. Benjamin
7. Elijah
8. Lucas
9. Mason
10. Logan

Ditto to 2018... These are the exact same names year over year, although the order has changed up just a bit. These names have staying power.

And these names are the top climbing new names from 2019:

1. Genesis
2. Saint (thank you, Kimye...)
3. Baker
4. Kairo
5. Watson
6. Kenzo
7. Jaxtyn
8. Kylo (for the Star Wars fans who love Kylo Ren)
9. Dakari
10. Karsyn
