Iowans Are Already Saving Up For Our Favorite Halloween Decoration
We're getting close to spooky season.
My social media feed is split. Half of the posts are claiming it's spooky season now, jack-o-lanterns go on the porch right now and everything in the kitchen is now pumpkin-flavored. The other half of the posts are clinging onto the dog days of summer for dear life.
A study by Angi found that most Americans (62% of us) decorate for Halloween before October 1st, so you're not too far off. But our favorite Halloween decoration just has to be expensive, because why not.
Iowans Love This Halloween Decoration
The study by Angi found that we're big fans of these:
We love our animatronic witches, zombies, and monsters! That's what we picked when the study asked what decoration we would buy if budget wasn't an issue.
Illinois, meanwhile prefers a family of 12-ft skeletons.
Other options were 2-story inflatables or lifelike werewolves.
Those cool animatronics can get expensive, depending on how elaborate or big they are. They can range from $100 to $600 on Spirit Halloween's website.
We can't forget last year's most iconic animatronic Halloween decoration: Lewis.
He's back at Target again this year, by the way, if you have $200 you don't have anything else to do with.
Interestingly, Iowans were found to prefer family-friendly decorations for Halloween as opposed to scary or gory so maybe we're buying the cute animatronics? Either way, they're going to be expensive (especially this year) and likely sell out fast, so now is the time to save that Halloween budget.
