One of the hottest stars in country music will be returning to Iowa this summer and playing at the Iowa State Fair!

It's been a while since a star has burst onto the country music scene like Jelly Roll did in 2023. After years of doing primarily country rap and rock, Jelly Roll decided to put out a different kind of song to country radio. That song was 'Son of a Sinner.' I heard him sing it live in Cedar Rapids when he opened up for the rock group Shinedown. I knew right away that this guy was going to be special.

The song hit #1 and struck a chord in country audiences. His next single, 'Need a Favor' also reached #1, and 'Save Me' with Lainey Wilson is currently in the top 10. His album 'Whitsett Chapel' was one of the top albums of 2023. But perhaps better than all the music from Jelly Roll, is the person. He doesn't shy away from his past, which included jail time. He visits youth shelters and prisons. He is appreciative of the chance he has been given.

Jelly Roll is the latest headlining act to be added to the 2024 lineup at the Iowa State Fair. He'll play the state fair grandstands on Saturday, August 10th. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m.
