Investigation into Damaged Property Leads to Drug Arrests
Two Oelwein women have been taken into custody on drug related charges, after an investigation into damaged property.
At about 4:30pm Saturday, Oct. 31st, the Fayette County Sheriff got a report of a property dispute along with damage done to a residence on 20th Street, just southwest of Oelwein. Deputies were asked to take photos of the damaged property.
While the officers were taking the photos, they discovered illegal substances, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded 9mm handgun in plain site. The items were seized as evidence.
The investigation also determined that multiple adults were contributing to a minor. The juvenile was later located at a home in Hazelton, along with one of the suspects, identified as 22 year old Alissa Lucas of Oelwein. Lucas was arrested for Contributing Illegal Substances to a Minor.
On November 3rd, 22 year old Olivia Rupright of Oelwein was taken into custody for multiple Fayette County warrants, for Contributing Illegal Substances to a Minor, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
