An inmate at a Northeast Iowa jail faces more charges for allegedly assaulting jail staff members.


The incident happened Monday (Oct. 1) at the Fayette County jail in West Union.

The Fayette County Sheriff was called in to investigate. Authorities determined that 46 year old Jeremy Meyer of West Union had assaulted some jail staff members.

Meyer, who was already an inmate at the facility, was charged with 2 Counts of Assault on Correctional Officers.
