Indy Woman Charged After Crashing into Hazleton House

An Independence woman faces several charges after crashing into a house in Hazleton.

The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office received a report shortly after 9pm Saturday (April 25) of a traffic accident in the 200 block of North Main Street (Highway 150) in Hazleton.

A car driven by 37 year old Renee Ohl was southbound, when she lost control. The vehicle spun around, struck a tree, then a house, coming to rest on the lawn.

Ohl was not injured; she was charged with second offense Operating While Intoxicated/Drugged, second offense Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana, Driving While License Suspended, Failure to Have SR22 Insurance as Required and was cited for Failure to Maintain Control, Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance, Open Container and Unlawful Possession of Driver License.

The Buchanan County Sheriff was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and Hazleton Fire Department.
