Indy Pickup Driver Blamed for Accident with Semi

An Independence motorist has been cited for an accident involving a pickup and a semi tractor-trailer.

It happened just after 11am last Wednesday, Oct. 3rd, just north of Independence on 206th Street.

Joseph Olson was backing his pickup out of a driveway, when a southbound semi, driven by Erwin Henderson of Independence, clipped the back of the vehicle. The semi then went into the ditch and rolled onto it's side.

No one was injured, but Olson was cited for Failure to Yield to traffic.
