Slick driving conditions are being blamed for a one-vehicle accident in Fayette County, that sent the driver to the Oelwein hospital.


It happened shortly after 10:30pm Monday (March 5), on "R" Avenue, about 5 miles southwest of Randalia. A northbound car driven by 20 year old Bethany Boleyn of Hawkeye, slid off the road into a ditch, and ended up in a creek.

Boleyn was taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein to be treated for minor injuries. Her 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass was totaled.

The accident is under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
