Icy Roads Help Put Drivers in Ditches in Fayette County
Slick road conditions have put a Northeast Iowa motorist in the hospital, totaling her car.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was notified of a traffic accident shortly after 9am Tuesday (April 3), near the intersection of Delta Road and County Road W-51, north of Arlington.
20 year old Sarah Schnuelle of Castalia was driving south, when her car hit a slick spot in the road. Her car entered a ditch and went through several fences. Schnuelle was taken to the West Union hospital to be treated for minor injuries; her 2005 Buick LeSabre was totaled.
A couple of hours later, the Fayette County Sheriff was alerted of a car in the ditch at the intersection of Rose Road and Nature Road, south of St. Lucas.
36 year old Jaime Blundy of Sumner lost control of her car on the icy road and drove into the ditch. No one was injured, but there was $3,000 damage to her 2004 Dodge Stratus.
Both accidents remain under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff.
