Two people are recovering from injuries in a traffic accident in Grundy County.


According to the Iowa State Patrol, it happened at about 11:30am Monday (Dec. 30), at the intersection of U.S. Highway 57 and "C" Avenue, east of Ackley.

A northbound SUV driven by 20 year old Julie Erissette of Ackley, was unable to stop at the intersection, due to snow and ice on the road. Her SUV slid out in front of a pickup driven by 56 year old Darius Rindels of Wellsburg, and the 2 collided.

Both drivers were taken to an area hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The accident is still under investigation.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Parksburg Police Department, Grundy and Butler County Sheriff's Offices, Ackley Fire Department and Iowa Falls EMS.
