Icy Roads Cause a Pair of Recent Accidents
Slick roads are sited as a factor in a pair of recent one-vehicle accidents in Buchanan County.
The first one happened at about 4pm Friday, just north of Independence on Highway 150.
An SUV driven by Amber Ciesielski of Hazleton was northbound when it went out of control on the ice-covered road.
The vehicle went into the ditch and rolled, coming to rest on it's wheels in a field.
Amber and a child in the vehicle were taken to the Independence hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
When investigating officers arrived at the site, they spotted another vehicle in the ditch just north of the 1st accident scene.
An SUV driven by Lisa Stocks of Hazleton was headed north on Highway 150 when she lost control on the slickened road. The vehicle entered the ditch and sustained some damage; no one was injured.
