Residents in several Northeast Iowa communities will be welcoming the annual Pony Express horse ride through area towns, to raise funds for Camp Sunnyside near Ankeny.


Camp Sunnyside is for special needs children and adults. Every Good Friday a horse ride is planned to go through area cities to help raise money for the camp.

The riders begin their journey at about 9am today in Calmar; they stop in West Union at approximately 10am; then on to Fayette at 10:30am; the horses and riders will be collecting donations when they go through Oelwein at 11:30am; then on to Independence at 1pm, Evansdale at 3pm, and Waterloo at 4pm. The ride will end in Hudson.
