Home Owned by NE Iowa Seminary Burns Down

Authorities are looking for the cause of a fire that destroyed a home owned by a Northeast Iowa seminary.

The blaze was reported to Dubuque County authorities at about 11:30am Monday, on the southwest side of Epworth.

The home, which was not occuppied, is owned by Divine Word Seminary in Epworth. No one was injured.

The house is considered a total loss, with a value of about $150,000.

Wiring in the ceiling was damaged, but power to the structure had been shut off

The origin of the fire remains under investigation.
