Torential rains overnight have caused flash flooding in portions of Northeast Iowa.

In just a few hours, southern Clayton County received seven to eleven inches of rain, much of it in the Osterdock area. The rain has caused flooding on the nearby Turkey River and Mill Creek.

In Dubuque County, officials had to close down Highway 52 near Sageville and Durango. And about 6,000 area residents were without electricity.

Several tornado sightings were reported overnight near Homestead, Conroy, Williamsburg and the Amana Colonies. No injuries were reported, but there was some crop and outbuilding damage.
