
Funeral Set for NE Iowa EMT Killed in Accident on Dubuque Bridge
The funeral for an EMT who died in an accident on a Dubuque bridge, was held last night (Tuesday, May 1).
34 year old Steven Werner of Dubuque was a passenger in a Paramount Ambulance that slammed into the back of a semi that was stopped for construction on the Julien Dubuque bridge early Friday morning.
The EMT's were coming back from transporting a patient to Chicago, to their home base of the Centralia-Peosta fire station.
Werner was pronounced dead at the scene, while the ambulance driver, 19-year-old Jack Dillman, was taken to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital for treatment.
A memorial service for Werner was held at 7pm last night at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home in Dubuque.
