Four Teenagers Responsible for Burglary Spree in Oelwein are Charged
Four area teenagers are now being charged, following the investigation into numerous recent burglaries in Oelwein.
Oelwein Police announced Saturday (May 22) that officers had been looking into vehicle break-in's, and burglaries at area warehouses, garages and businesses. They also investigated a motor vehicle theft, and a fire that was intentionally set in a garage.
As a result of the investigation, Oelwein Police filed multiple burglary charges, as well as theft-2nd degree, and arson, on May 22nd.
All of the suspects are juveniles, and their names are not being released. However, police note that 2 of the male suspects are 14 years old, one 14 year old female juvenile, and a 13 year old male.
The teens' parents have been notified, and all of the charges will be referred to Juvenile Court Services.
