A flat tire on a feed wagon caused a traffic accident in Fayette County Tuesday afternoon.

The Fayette County Sheriff received several 911 calls just before 3pm Tuesday, reporting an accident On Highway 3, west of Highway 150 near Oelwein.

59 year old Vryl Livers from Lincoln, Nebraska was driving a Ford F-350, pulling a feed wagon, westbound on Highway 3, when a tire blew on the feed wagon. Livers lost control of his truck, and the feed wagon overturned onto the roadway.

No one was injured, but there was an estimated $3,000 in damage. The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol; the accident is still under investigation.

A Fairbank woman escaped injury, but there was considerable damage to her vehicle, when she crashed into a deer in Fayette County.

The accident was reported at just before 9pm Sunday (July 15), on Highway 18, east of West Union. 43 year old Christine Wescott was driving west, when a deer entered the roadway and was struck.

No one was injured, but damages to her 2016 Nissan Altima were estimated at $5,000. The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted by the West Union Police Department.
