Five Injured in SUV Rollover Near Stanley

A Sumner teen is being charged with causing a rollover accident in rural Fayette County that sent 5 people to the hospital.

The sheriff's office received a 911 call at about 2:45pm Friday (May 17), reporting that an SUV had rolled into a ditch in the 1,000 block of "L" Avenue, just north of Stanley.

18 year old Cheyenne Haugland was driving southbound, rounding a curve, when she lost control and her vehicle rolled into the ditch.

All 5 occupants of the vehicle had sustained minor injuries; they were taken to Mercy Emergency in Oelwein.

Haugland has been charged with Failure to Maintain Control. Her 2001 Ford Escape was considered a total loss.
