Fire Injures 2 At Amish Bishop’s Home

CANTON, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say two people are missing and two others have been injured in a fire at a rural home in Fillmore County.

Neighbors gathered at the property Monday morning and said the home is owned by a bishop of the local Amish community. Authorities say the two injured people were taken to Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse.

County Sheriff Tom Kaase says firefighters were called to the home about 1 a.m. Later Monday morning, firefighters waited for an excavator to clear debris in order to search the scene. Firefighters from Canton, Harmony and Mable worked the fire in the bitter cold.
