A Dunkerton driver was not injured, but his truck was totaled, when it caught fire in rural Fayette County.

It happened at about 6pm Sunday (April 9), on County Road V-68, just north of Highway 18, northwest of Hawkeye.

22 year old Cameron Mauer of Dunkerton was driving the pickup, pulling a grain dryer, when the vehicle stalled. When he got out of the pickup, he discovered the rear of the truck was on fire, which quickly spread to the cab.

The Hawkeye Fire and Rescue responded; no one was injured, but the truck was totaled. There was also slight damage to the grain dryer.
