"If you build it, they will come".  "Is this heaven? No, it's Iowa". Call it "comfort food for the soul". It's been a while since I've watched the movie "Field of Dreams" and it might be time to revisit this Iowa-based gem. A farmer carves out a baseball diamond on his cornfield in Iowa when he hears an invisible voice say "if you build it, he will come". "He" being MLB legend "Shoeless Joe".

I read that the movie turns 31 today. With a star-studded cast featuring Kevin Costner, Ray Liotta, James Earl Jones and more, it became known as one of the classic sports movies, and classic films in general, in American history. The Dyersville movie site has long since become a national tourist treasure. It's all shut down right now, like most things because of Coronavirus, but they are still working on that 8,000+ seat stadium to host Major League baseball in Iowa. We're all missing sports and movies right now, but this flick is "comfort food" for the eyes and soul, it's easy to find and we owe it to ourselves to give it another look.

We can all do our part and wait a bit longer, but we all look forward to flocking back to the site when things get back to normal. Meanwhile, if you know someone who hasn't seen it or isn't familiar with the story, now's as good a time as any.
