Fayette Sheriff Reports Assault Arrest and Car/Deer Accident

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office has released details of an assault and an accident involving a deer, with both incidents being reported on Saturday (Jan. 2).

Just before 3:30pm, deputies were called to a residence in Lamont, to investigate a domestic assault. After officers looked into the incident, 24 year old Dustin Heine of Lamont was arrested for Simple Domestic Abuse Assault. He was taken to the Fayette County jail and held until his court appearance.

And at about 9:15pm Saturday, officers were called to an accident involving a deer, near the 5,000 block of Great River Road, west of Clermont. A car driven by Kayla Stevenson of Cedar Rapids, was westbound when she hit a deer that was walking across the road. A passenger had minor injuries, and there was $1,500 damage to her 2008 Nissan Altima.
