Fayette Sheriff Makes Arrest, Responds to Accident

An Oelwein woman has been arrested on an outstanding warrant.

At about 4:30pm Wednesday (Jan. 17), the Fayette County Sheriff took 34 year old Jade Nuehring into custody on a Fayette County warrant. Nuehring was wanted for failure to appear in court on a charge of Driving While Barred. She was taken to the Fayette County Jail and held on $1500 cash bond.

The Fayette County Sheriff is investigating a traffic accident in Hawkeye. It happened at about 12:30pm Wednesday on Main Street. A van driven by 82 year old Curtis McCallum collided with a legally parked truck owned by 47 year old Chris Etgeton of Sumner. No one was injured. There was $2500 damage to McCallum's 2016 Chrysler Town and Country, and $500 damage to Etgeton's 2004 Ford F250.
